Office space St Ives
Welcome to Office Genie – the home of office space rental on the web. If you’re looking to rent in one of Cambridgeshire’s finest towns, you’re in the right place: St Ives (no, not the Cornwall one!) has that perfect mix of quiet and pretty, while being within easy reach of the action. To find out more, read on.
Why choose offices in St Ives?
Built on the banks of the River Great Ouse, and named after St Ivo (whose body was allegedly found there), St Ives is traditionally a market town and is still home to one of East Anglia’s largest markets.
While it doesn’t have a train station today, the old St Ives to Cambridge rail line has been revived with a ‘guided bus’ route that takes under an hour to reach the city (Cambridge has trains to London Kings Cross and Liverpool St). Buses also run regularly to Huntingdon (30 minutes), which connects to Kings Cross (an hour) and Peterborough (15 minutes) – a key for connections to the midlands, the north and Scotland.
The A14 runs just south of St Ives, connecting the town to Cambridge, Huntingdon and beyond by road. The A1(M) is just a 15-minute drive west, while London Stansted Airport is less than an hour’s drive.
It also benefits from four modern business parks: Compass Point, Meadow Lane, Somersham Road and St Ives Business Park, each with plenty of office space for rent. All are within easy reach of the town’s main amenities, while the St Ives Park & Ride facility means there’s no problems with parking.
Being so close to Cambridge and having one of only four bridge chapels in England, dating back to the 15th Century, it is a popular day-trip tourist destination. And the 17 pubs don’t hurt – although it’s a pale comparison to the 64 the town boasted in 1838 (one per 55 locals!).
Office space options in St Ives
Once you’ve decided on the location of your business, it’s time to turn thoughts to the type of office you want to rent. We break these down into three main types – traditional lease, serviced and shared office space:
- Traditional lease: These are long-term lets for well-established businesses happy to control everything from furnishings to amenities, making them cheap but much more hand’s on.
- Serviced offices: At the other end of the scale, these purpose-built and managed buildings offer flexible accommodation – perfect for a growing business.
- Shared office space: Great for freelancers and startups, shared offices see you take some desks in an office leased by another firm – a bit cheaper than fully serviced, but with added personality.
If you can’t find your perfect office in the St Ives area, why not give us a call and see if we can help? You may also want to consider widening your search to Huntingdon or St Neots. Alternatively keep checking back – we’re adding new offices to our database all the time.
