Office space Fleet Street
Now just an emblematic title for the English press rather than its actual home, Fleet Street remains a fantastic central London location for any business to rent its offices. At Office Genie we’ve collated what we think are the best rental opportunities in the area – as well as giving you a little information about the locale.
Why rent Fleet Street offices?
While Fleet Street was the home of British media until the 1980s, it has since become synonymous with investment banking, accountancy and the legal professional – helped by its close proximity to Temple (once famed as the home of the Knights Templar – now for its lawyers and barristers).
The Royal Courts of Justice and the Old Bailey are also nearby; which says nothing about the fact Goldman Sachs and several of London’s oldest privately owned banks are also based in the area.
Fleet Street is just a five minute walk north from the River Thames at Blackfriars Bridge, with the nearest tube stations at Temple (District and Circle), Chancery Lane and St Paul’s (both on the Central line). But the closest station is City Thameslink – a few minutes from St Pancras and offering direct trains to Brighton and Luton Airport amongst others.
Fleet Street is also essentially the start of the A4, heading west out of the city via Heathrow Airport, while there is also straightforward access to the M1 to the north.
Office space options around Fleet Street
There are hundreds of offices available for rent in central London, so how on earth do you narrow it down? Start by deciding on what you need from a new office: the cheap traditional option (long lease, hard work), a serviced office (flexible, managed) or shared space (enjoy the vibe of working in another firm’s office).
Traditional lets see you managing the building yourself – and all the paperwork that entails. All that is taken away with a serviced office – but instead you have to make do with the fixtures and fittings provided (which is much the same with shared spaces). Choices choices! If this does take your fancy, there are some great options nearby: Consider Regus Fleet Street, or WeWork Moorgate (a little further afield but an excellent property).
Even with such choice you may not see exactly what you need right away. If you want a hand, simply give us a call and let us guide you through the process; or have you considered widening your search to nearby Westminster, Soho or Shoreditch? And worst case scenario: keep checking back. We add more London offices to our database every week, so it’s only a matter of time.
