Entrepreneur awards to be launched in UK

Awards celebrating the achievements of British Entrepreneurs are to be launched this year.

The Great British Entrepreneur Awards, launched in partnership with Fresh Business Thinking, intend to recognise achievement across all forms of enterprise and entrepreneurship.

Award categories will include Entrepreneur of the Year, Business TV Show of the Year and Enterprise City of the Year.

The awards will be judged by a number of figures from the worlds of entrepreneurship, media, academia, enterprise, policy and business.

The panel is set to include Peter Ibbetson, Chairman of Small Business’ RBS; Tom Riordan, CEO Leeds City Council, Lawson Muncaster, MD City AM; Wilfred Emmanuel Jones, ‘The Black Farmer’ and Priya Lakhani, the founder of Masala Masale.

Simon Burton, the founder of the awards, said: “Entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of the economy. They question the received wisdom, drive change and create opportunities.

“Entrepreneurs rescue failing industries and invent entirely new ones. They create jobs and solve problems. Entrepreneurs make something of nothing.”

Fresh Business Thinking founder Nick James added: “The Great British Entrepreneur Awards will be the annual celebration of seasoned and aspiring entrepreneurs and the support network they need to survive and thrive.

“UK PLC needs entrepreneurs like never before, people that can innovate, lead and inspire and the Great British Entrepreneur Awards will put them centre stage.”

The awards will be held in London on November 19th to coincide with Global Entrepreneurship Week.
