Office space in W2
With its wealth of tube stations and motorway links, London W2 could be a great location for your next office rental. Welcome to the Office Genie guide to this well-connected and cosmopolitan area, which offers something for just about everyone.
Why rent offices in W2?
The W2 postal district of London includes Paddington, hotel-rich Bayswater, Hyde Park, Westbourne Green, and parts of Notting Hill and Little Venice, with its houseboats, Canal Café Theatre and the quirky Puppet Theatre Barge.
At the south is the green space of Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, while the area is bounded by the Edgware Road to the east and extends a little beyond the Westway (A40) to the north. It includes the former Whiteleys department store, now a mall. The Paddington Basin development lies within W2, which has turned this former canal terminus in to a high-profile commercial area. Marks & Spencer is one large company which has relocated its headquarters here.
At the heart of W2 is Paddington Station: the terminus for commuter routes to west London and the Thames Valley, as well as services to the South West (an hour and three-quarters to Bristol), the Midlands (Birmingham is less than a two-hour journey) and South Wales (Cardiff is two hours away). The Heathrow Express connects Paddington with Heathrow Airport with a journey time of 15 minutes.
Paddington is also on the Underground – Paddington tube station is served by the Bakerloo, Circle, District, and Hammersmith & City lines. Other Tube stations in W2 are Royal Oak (Hammersmith & City), Lancaster Gate, and Queensway (Central), Edgware Road (Bakerloo branch), Bayswater (Circle, District and Hammersmith & City) and, just at the south-western tip of the area, Notting Hill Gate (Circle, District, Hammersmith & City and Central). Road connections are excellent too. Drivetime to J1 of the M40 is 30 minutes, while you’re less than a mile to the A4 with a 30-minute drive to J1 of the M4.
